Former New Orleans Mayor Ray Nagin Indicted by Feds!!!
It is a great day in New Orleans when a former corrupt mayor receives his very own 21 count federal indictment. Ray Nagin was already one of the worst mayors in New Orleans’ modern era, but to be a down and dirty corrupt mayor, that’s just a real shame. The people of New Orleans certainly deserve an honest mayor, like all great cities and towns across this fine land of ours. By the time the Nagin administration came to a close, he was one of the least liked mayors in New Orleans history.
The 25-page indictment that came down Friday included charges of conspiracy, money laundering and wire fraud. Nagin, 56, has been issued a summons to appear in court.
Nagin’s sons Jeremy Nagin and Jarin Nagin were not indicted but still face exposure, as does his wife Seletha Nagin because of the charge involving false tax returns. Jeremy and Jarin had this little granite company named Stone Age LLC, and some of the corruption
I’ve written a story before stating the Nagin indictment was forthcoming, and he had to be indicted by today, since the statue of limitations for some of the crimes Nagin is accused of expired today.
The case has been assigned to Judge Ginger Berrigan. The indictment puts a highly anticipated cap on Nagin’s long fall from grace. New Orleans voted in its first white mayor since Moon Landrieu after suffering the biggest case of voters’ remorse in voting history! The name of this first white mayor in 30 years? Maurice “Mitch” Landrieu, Moon’s son. Maurice has a daughter who’s a US Senator, that’s Mary Landrieu.
